Your Niche: How To Find And Make Money From It

Your Niche: How To Find And Make Money From It

At the beginning of building my business, I thought that having a niche wasn't so important. After all, I can help all business owners, right?

I had a heart and a desire to help as many people as possible after all.

I realized very fast that this wasn't the case. Most of whom I was trying to reach was very much not connecting with me!

When I gave up the "crown" of being all things to all people and started focusing on my niche, sales became much easier!

We have to give up the "noble" need to help everyone and niche down.

In this article, I'm going to walk you through finding your niche in business so that you can "stay in love" with what you do.

I'll show you how to narrow down your industry/product, identify the kind of client most likely to buy what you have for sale, and even give you some specific strategies on how to market yourself.

Let me make something very clear before we get started, however…

If you are interested in finding a niche, it has everything to do with how well you can "fit" with the target market, not about how good you are at what you do.

I'll show you how to fit into your niche and make money from it as well…

First, let's cover some background on what a niche is and why it's essential to choose one.

What Is A Niche, And Why Does It Matter?

One of the biggest rookie mistakes that newbs make is that they want to be all things to all people. They think that if they're good enough, it won't matter what niche they choose because anyone who needs their service can find them and buy from them.

If you think that, then I'm afraid to say that you're dead wrong.

Your niche isn't just what you do… It's whom you do it for.

Just like a carpenter or an electrician can be seen as a "niche" because they are good at the specific service of carpentry or electrical work, you are a "niche" because you offer specific clients a particular set of value.

The more specific that set of values is, the better it fits your niche.

The best part of finding your niche, you can charge more money by targetting to your niche.

A product sold mass market is often sold much cheaper than one for a specific niche!

Why is that?

Well, for two reasons:

1. You can charge more since there's a smaller market of people who want it.

2. People who are interested in your niche will be more involved and knowledgeable about the product.

They'll have higher expectations from you and be willing to pay more because they're getting exactly what they want.

If you think that having a niche means that you have to specialize, you're dead mistaken again.

Specializing in one little thing means that you will only ever reach a tiny audience who wants your specific service, product, or value.

Finding your niche is about connecting with the correct specific group of target customers that will most likely buy from you and wants to do business with you.

Finding your niche is a lot easier than you would think!

You Must Believe In Your Niche

If you don't fully believe in the products or services you are selling, why would anyone else?

How can you sell something that doesn't excite you?

If you can't get excited about it, why would anyone else?

You have to believe in what you are selling, no matter how "generic" it may seem. If you are selling an idea, then there isn't anything behind it.

The best kind of support comes from someone who truly believes in their product because they know exactly what their customers need to hear and when they need to listen to it.

I've worked with people who did something so simple as cleaning homes but believed wholeheartedly that they were changing people's lives by empowering their clients to get more out of life.

I've worked with others who did something not nearly as interesting, like selling candles, but yet believed wholeheartedly that they were making the world a better place by giving people an affordable luxury in this crazy fast-paced society that never gives them a moment to relax enjoy their surroundings.

You must fully believe in the products or services you are selling, but more importantly, you need to believe in yourself...

And if you don't, you have no business doing what I'm about to show you next because it will be very hard for you if you do not honestly believe 100%.

You Have To Be Actively Involved In Using Or Doing Things Inside Of Your Niche

Even if you are selling an idea, then you have to be actively involved in that idea. It can't just be "out there" for people to see.

It has to be a part of every single thing that you do because only by being actively involved in YOUR NICHE can you connect with your BUYERS successfully.

People will know when you're not engaged or interested because the language and actions won't feel natural.

You'll come across as fake, phony, trying too hard…and no one likes that!

If you're selling a product, then you have to be using it and loving it.

You can't just say, "Oh yeah, this is so great, and that's why I'm selling it."

Pick the best products-the ones that will really solve your customers' problems or meet their needs somehow. Then use them yourself.

Immerse yourself in the world of your target niche.

Let it become a part of you, and you become a part of it!

Have A Long Term Vision For Your Niche That's Bigger Than You

Once you start to understand your niche and connect with them in a meaningful way, then it's time for you to think about the bigger picture.

What do you want this group of people that trust you so much to do? What will they be doing in 5 years? Ten years?

You don't have to have all of the answers. You need enough understanding of where your target market is going so that you can guide them along the way instead of pushing them out front without any direction whatsoever.

You must dream big and have big dreams for your niche. If you don't, then who will?

Who else looks at this group of people that need what you offer and sees a world-class rock star?

You can! After all, you've already gotten past the first two challenging hurdles. Now you need to see some light at the end of the tunnel and bring your dream to life.

Start To Market To Your Niche

Now that you understand who your niche is, what problems they have, how they think, where they are going, and why YOU should be the one to lead them there, now it's time for you to market to them.

It's time for you to start telling stories about all of the great things that YOU can do for THEM because YOU get IT! You get their challenges better than anyone else in this world because YOU went through it too!

You've already done most of the work because YOU built your expertise up by getting involved in YOUR NICHE.

Now YOU need to share everything YOU know with everyone else out there...the ones who will finally be able to WOW their customers after having struggled for so long without knowing what to do or whom to turn to.

YOU are that solution!

Remember the stories of the people you met along your journey?

Make them even more amazing by sharing YOUR story with others.

People will be able to relate because YOU understand them, they see it in everything YOU do, and they feel it when THEY connect with YOU on a deeper level.

You'll be an inspiration to everyone else out there struggling too...

People will approach you at events and conferences telling you how your content helped change their lives...and...they'll want what you have too!

That's a right-a whole new group of potential clients for YOU now as well as your original target market.

All because YOU decided it was time for things to change...YOU decided it was time for YOU to make a difference in people's lives, and YOU took the steps necessary to do so.

I'm proud of you, and I know you'll be successful no matter what niche you go after because I can see how hard you're willing to work for this!

Now don't stop here...keep going, keep learning and improving upon what you already know because there is always room for improvement -always room to add more value, share more information and help even MORE people.

Watch your business grow!

Don't Wait To Figure It All Out Before You Start!

Don't wait until you have all the answers figured out of what to do next in your business journey. Start "doing" now and take action before you are "certain" about the right path to take!

It doesn't matter whether mistakes will happen because they can help you learn from them by adjusting the course later down the line.

You don't need to know everything-- take action on what you know and teach yourself it's ok not to know all of what you need before moving forward with new tasks or endeavors!

This applies to everything from social media, Facebook ads, product development, messaging, marketing, you name it!

If you want to do something, start doing it. It doesn't matter if there is a "perfect way" that gets results every time; what matters is the work and effort put - not how well your strategy works or whether or not "this will bring positive outcomes each time."

Don't worry about doing everything the right way.

Just take action and figure it out as you go along. It's better to try something than waste time on developing a perfect plan in your head before starting.

Train yourself to no longer think that there is only one right path to do things; it's better to start somewhere than stay in indecision, waiting for an "ideal solution" to manifest itself from thin air in front of you.

Attempting to do everything perfectly may cause inaction, instead learn things through trial-and-error rather than wait until "the truth" becomes clear--teaching yourself not knowing all of what you need to know isn't ok while moving forward with new tasks or endeavors!

Don't worry about doing things perfectly every time; just get started when starting any endeavor, even though some errors may occur that require changing paths to find success.

Become ok with changing paths along the way, and don't be afraid of discovering new information through trial and error!

Teach oneself that "not having a full understanding is fine" while taking risks in life rather than waiting for perfection to manifest itself magically without risking anything!

You are going to have to step out and take risks with uncertainty - and without knowing "is this the right thing to do" for you ever to begin to reach the goals you have.

There is no perfect way to go about starting a new endeavor.

If you want something, start doing it and stop waiting for the "perfect" answer to come along as if by magic.

It's better to learn through trial-and-error than wait until all of your questions are answered before taking any action at this point in time!

Just start, even if you aren't sure. That's the key to success, and yet most people miss it.

How To Create Healthy Friendships And Meet New People

Healthy friendships are so important to have. They affect our business lives, relationships, future, and more!

Choose friends that share your values, trust them and talk openly about issues.

When you get better at developing friendships, you will also get better at connecting with business prospects, so it's a worthwhile activity to learn how to create friendships as someone who is also building a business (as most of my entrepreneur readers are).

The importance of healthy friendships cannot be understated when looking at mental health issues such as depression and anxiety, which are often caused by difficult people in our lives who upset us without meaning too, or those who may even bully us into submission.

However, there is also the question of how people go about finding good friends in the first place.

It's said that people aren't looking for friends, they are just looking for two things; someone to talk to or hang out with, and somebody like them.

Striking up a conversation can sometimes get the ball rolling, but what if you don't want to engage in a deep discussion straight away?  What happens if you get stuck in the 'small talk' rut?

It's good to start with a topic that you can identify with.

What are your interests, for example, what do you like to do in your spare time?   You might want to ask them about their tastes too and see if they like anything similar.

You might want to suggest meeting up at a place that you can both enjoy such as a movie, festival, or sporting event.

If there's no obvious connection there, you could bring up something relevant but in an amusing way.

Next up, you might want to broach a bit of controversy.

You don't have to be controversial yourself, but you can talk about topics that are. Try not to offend anyone though and reserve your opinion for when you're with those who share your views. This will help you to bond with people that are like-minded, as well as offering a safety net should the topic become heated or uncomfortable.

This is all good and well but how do you actually make friends once you've met someone who fits your bill?

To begin with, it's important to keep an open mind and not be in such a rush to make friends that you don't value the person for who they are.

If nothing else, becoming their friend means that you'll have somebody to hang out with on occasion and it's important to be able to do things alone sometimes.

You could even suggest activities together or go places because you want to be able to do them with company, not because you want a friend at all costs.

If they are receptive to the idea of hanging out then that's good! Just make sure that you keep in contact with them so that it doesn't fade off into nothingness.

Remember though, if someone is overly persistent or complains about you not being their friend then it's probably best to move on. It will only end in hurt feelings all round, especially if they're genuinely not your type of person.

Ideally, you'll become friends with people that you like and who like you (perhaps even love a little bit!).

They should be able to take pride in knowing that you like them but are not dependent on your friendship.

They shouldn't need to have you there to be happy or feel loved. So long as they're the right people then that's what matters and it should develop naturally through spending time together.

As you learn to show yourself friendly and create healthy friendships, you'll get better over time and find that you have people who you can grow with through life.

These people will raise you up with times get tough and be there for you through thick and thin.

That's the sign of a healthy friendship.

Eliminate Distractions and Get More Done In Your Business

When I first started building my business, working from home, I was constantly getting distracted by everything going on in my life.

It was difficult for me to stay focused on all the things I had to do. I would get discouraged because of this. Instead, I made a decision: I will no longer allow distractions to decide my business success for me, and I will take complete control over my business life - every single day.

You see, the key to business success is identifying and eliminating the distractions that are blocking you from building your business.

Recognizing and combating the distractions stopping you from growing your business is a critical part of the process, which can't be overlooked.

It's completely impossible to run a profitable business unless these barriers are overcome, and you make that decision as I did for myself.

If the distractions are something that you have control over - like making excuses or just being lazy - you will need to create a plan to overcome them.

It might seem difficult at first, but by using the following strategies, you can eliminate the disturbances that are causing you to fail and achieve success in your business:

1.) Take a moment to reflect on how you are spending your time, and then adjust your schedule as necessary. If there's something that isn't directly related to running your business, like surfing social media or watching television, cut it out of your day immediately.

2.) If you're struggling with getting things done in a way that will help you reach your goals, find a time management strategy that works for you and stick with it.

3.) Set clear, communicated boundaries with others. You get to decide what you're going to do every hour of the day, not other people. You have to stick to your "no, I can't do that" without feeling guilty.

4.) If changing your behavior isn't enough, try adjusting your environment as well. Maybe take some work on the go or change up where you're getting specific tasks done so that there's no chance of being distracted by something else.

You must find ways to overcome them so that you can focus all of your energy on growing your company and achieving success!

Success is not the outcome of random chance; it's the result of clear vision, commitment, and persistence.

If you follow the path - and stay consistent, I know that you can succeed as well!

Change Your Life By Changing The Voices You Listen To

The voices that we listen to have the most significant impact on our lives. They influence the way we think!

We must pay attention to who we are letting speak into our lives - because it has an impact on what our life becomes!

The hardest part is identifying which people or sources are helpful to you and which aren't.

So today, I want to share ways to change our lives by changing the voices we listen to.

Why is it essential to change the voices that you let speak into your life?

Because the way you think about your life and the goals - that are exciting to you are often highly influenced by these voices.

So if we're not listening to voices that encourage us, inspire us, support our vision and goal... We won't have a clear plan for making our lives different or better or even just feel better.

If those are negative naysayers when you hear them speak, it puts a specific limit on what's possible for your future, and it affects the way we feel as well.

You have to choose to surround yourself and listen to voices that will carry you further towards your goals instead of hinder you from reaching your goals.

What is the role of this voice in your life?

Ask yourself this question: Why am I listening to this person?

We're bombarded with messages from friends, family members, and even our thoughts about who we are.

This is why understanding the role of voice in your life is essential - especially when it comes to picking new people that speak into your life (this even includes voices from news media, podcasts, social media).

Is this supporting your goals - or pulling you away from them?

How do you know if these voices are good for you or not?

If your goal is to become a writer, surround yourself with people who talk about books they're reading or ask how the last book was going.

If your goal is athletic, surround yourself with people who ask you about your workouts or share their tips and tricks.

If you want to become a successful entreprenuer, surround yourself with other business owners and listen to uplifting, empowering, encouraging voices from other business owners who are walking the same path as you!

Figure out what kind of friends or voices you need in order to achieve your goals.

Then, be intentional to take note of the people who are good for you and spend time with them, listen to their voice, or read what they write if it's helpful for your goals.

The importance of listening to positive voices and avoiding negative ones or toxic relationships that don't serve you anymore.

The way we speak into our lives plays a role in what happens to us. So we need to take control over the voices that speak into our lives and identify which ones are negative or toxic so that we can spend less time with them.

If you listen to a person who's constantly complaining about something, then you'll start complaining or feel like everything is going wrong. So listen to people who focus energy on the solution, not the problem or how negative they are.

Why it's vital to change whom you spend time with and listen to regularly.

What if you're around other people who are harmful or toxic?

The most straightforward answer is to cut ties with them.

If those voices don't serve your goals (especially when it comes to your thoughts about yourself), get them out of your life as soon as possible! At the very least, limit the amount of exposure to them to have better control over your thinking about yourself (for example, limit time watching TV shows that are too negative or political).

When should we cut ties with toxic people and relationships that don't serve our goals anymore?

You have to decide what you will tolerate from other people - there's always going to be someone who doesn't like you or disagrees with you, but at the end of the day, if they are constantly criticizing and nothing positive comes out of that person in your life - it may be time to cut ties.

Is it possible or desirable to completely cut ties with harmful or toxic people?

It depends on the person, but you have to identify who is supportive and constructive in your life and spend more time around those types of people.

Tips for finding new, more helpful people to be around and changing what we listen to regularly.

Here are five tips for finding new people to be around who will help you achieve your goals AND changing the noise that we listen to regularly (from news media, podcasts, social media).

1. Identify what types of people and voices you need in your life - The first step is realizing that there are certain voices you need in your life who will be there for you when times get tough.

2. Give up toxic relationships - Figure out which relationships aren't serving your goals and stop wasting time on those people or listening to their voices (from news media, podcasts, social media).

3. Get into a different environment - Spend more time with other people who will encourage and push you towards achieving your goals.

4. Create a new voice for yourself - Read lots of books by authors or experts similar to the type of person you want to become, listen to podcasts on subjects that interest you, take classes related to your interests, etc.

5. Get rid of negative influences - Don't watch TV news media or read the newspaper regularly if it's usually just filled with stories that aren't helpful towards achieving your goals.

Change your life by changing the voices that you listen to.

One way to do that is to spend more time around people who encourage you and help you achieve your goals. Reading books by authors/experts on the topics you're interested in will also provide positive voices for you.

Three Steps To Reaching Every Goal You Have

After thousands of hours of research, and coaching hundreds of business owners, these three steps are required for you to reach your goals.

The three steps to reaching your goals are just as important as the goal itself. This article will explain why it's so important and how to use these steps to reach your goals.

Let's say you have the goal to build a business. Through your research, you discovered how to reach that goal (a product to sell, how to market it, how to get customers, etc.). But now that you're starting these new habits for building your business do you worry about how you look to other people? Do you worry about the feedback you might get on your efforts? Do you continually worry about what others will think of your business?

Most of us hesitate to change our lives because we're afraid that it may affect how others view us. Conformity is one of the reasons why we don't change our lives. If a goal you have requires you to break an old habit, others are more than likely to think negatively about that (socially).

But this article isn't here to tell you what you should do.

It's here to show you how to worry about nothing other than yourself and how to make every decision you make be in a way that will benefit your own life.

Stop Worrying About Other's Opinions Of You

It's not your responsibility to worry about other people's opinions of you. If you want to accomplish your goals, follow your heart and do what makes you happy.

Stop thinking so much about the opinions of those around you, and focus on being yourself!

Only by following our dreams can we be truly fulfilled in life-never letting society's expectations get us down!

There is no need to let anyone dictate your life.

Enjoy Making Mistakes

Mistakes are a way of life, and you should enjoy them instead of trying to avoid making any.

It's okay if things don't always go as planned! As long as you're giving you all, then everything will turn out just fine no matter what happens.

Mistakes teach us valuable lessons that we cannot learn from our successes alone, so stop being afraid to make mistakes - they might be exactly what takes you down the right path!

You can be great at what you want without being perfect or doing everything perfectly!

Aiming for excellence instead of perfection will help make life far more fulfilling because mistakes are a natural part of becoming who we are meant to be.

Keep Moving Forward

It takes work, perseverance, and dedication to achieve success.

It is normal for people to get discouraged when they fail at something that seemed like it was going well. But remember: even if you take a step back or two (or ten), the journey has nothing but opportunities waiting ahead of you!

Keep pushing forward and develop perseverance.

You may fall many times before achieving success, but it's worth fighting for a better future life with more opportunities for yourself or your children.

Conclusion

If you strive for excellence instead of perfection, mistakes won't hold you back! Keep moving forward with perseverance while enjoying making mistakes along the way--you'll get there, in the end, no matter what happens!

Just keep doing you!
