Building Your Business On Limited Funds

Most people (almost all) who set out to build a business have limited funds. The ones who allow this to be their reason for failure always fail.

The truth is, financial resources have nothing to do with your ability to succeed in business.

The old saying goes, "It takes money to make money," but that is not entirely true because the amount of money it takes varies and is not a set amount.

You can set up a Squarespace.com website (which I show you how to set up in my course Website Building Made Easy) for under $19/month. Figure out how to re-allocate a few dollars to pay for that, anyone can do this and set up your website, and you will be in business.

Don't have funds to hire staff? Find some people who are willing to partner with you in the beginning to volunteer (and no, this isn't experienced business owners. Usually, this is people who are also just starting like yourself who have the skills you lack, so you can both share each other's skills).

There's so much you can do without needing funds for systems or programs. Mailchimp lets you have an email list of up to 2000 people, and then it's only $10/month. Social media scheduling apps are around $9/month.

This is pretty much all you need to get up and running for your business. Anything else, wait until you have some cash flow coming in to pay for and buy these. Re-allocate some funds as needed.

This whole idea of "I can't build a business cuz I don't have money" is a poopy idea that keeps people stuck and waiting years even to take action.

Worse yet, people believe, "If I don't make back the amount I spent in the first month, I'm a bad steward with my money," and this fear of using their money unwisely keeps them stuck even using it at all.

We have to break this lack of cycles.

You need to learn to live from a place of "Abundance" and "More Than Enough" instead of "Lack" and "Never Enough."

A scarcity mindset of never enough will always return to that place because it manifests "Never Enough."

Shift your mindset, shift your focus, and do what you can do with what you have.

Learn how to communicate better in writing and with the written word. Learn some new skills. Start posting on social media and making videos on social media.

Your goal is to make money so you can invest it in your business (it's not so you can pay your bills). Get a job to pay your bills while you build your business on the side.

Stop gripping so tightly to your wallet like it's all going to get taken away from you if you don't do everything correctly and start to build your business with hope and confidence.

Will you succeed instantly? Probably not. That's by design. If you are still scared to build your business at that point, you might want to get a job and focus on that because safety and security are more important to you than building a business. Get real with yourself and decide if you are someone who's cut out for business.

I believe anyone and everyone can be cut out for business and grow to build a business, but very few wills, and it's their own choice to stay stuck in fear and lack, worrying about what happens next.

For the rest, go to work. Get to taking action right away and start building.

Dealing With Fear Of Rejection In Business

One of the most painful things we can experience is rejection! We put our heart and soul into something, only to see it fail.

Nobody buys from us when we launch a product. Nobody helps us when we ask for help.

This can leave us feeling devastated and burnt out, not knowing what to do next!

If you're someone who struggles with the fear of rejection, know that it is normal.

I used to deal with a massive fear of rejection for years. I was so worried that everyone thought of me that I wouldn't put anything out there or say anything that might upset people!

The truth is this: rejection is part of life, and it's part of the business.

Yes, it's one of the most painful things. In fact, our brains are triggered in the same part that feels pain from physical pain!

So I get it, it's normal to fear rejection, but it's something that we have to learn to get some tougher skin with.

We have to learn how to put ourselves out there and step out courageously, even if we get rejected by people even if no one resonates with us.

To sell more products and services, growing in confidence to put yourself out there is key.

At the end of the day, if no one knows about what you sell, they aren't going to be able to buy from you!

What are somethings that you can do:

1.) Put yourself out there and SEEK OUT rejection.

2.) Talk to strangers and experience rejection first hand

3.) Tell yourself that the worst thing that can happen is you get rejected, and it's ok!

4.) Realize that it's not a terrible thing if people don't like you or reject you.

5.) Realize that it's ok if people think bad things about you or even get mad at you!

At the end of the day, we can't control what other people think about us! The only thing we can control is ourselves. The only person we can control is ourselves.

What if you made it a goal of yours to become courageous and no longer fear rejection this year?

Sometimes, therapy is something that can help with this. I know many people with who this has helped.

We can't let the worry of what other people might think of us, or even them not liking us or rejecting us, keep us from doing what we need to do.

It takes a risk in business, and a great risk you can take each day is putting yourself out there to where you might get rejected.

Go live on video, talk to some people, tell them about your business.

Ask for some help from someone, see if you get that referral!

Put yourself out there and be ready to get some rejection.

You'll begin to realize what so many who've gone before you did: rejection isn't that bad, and it's actually fun to build a business and embrace it!

Not everyone is going to like you. They aren't supposed to. Just be you and put yourself out there the best you can.

My Simple Counter-Intuitive Approach To Productivity

One of the most often overlooked techniques for business growth is play and having fun!

Over the years, companies are starting to implement fun aspects of their work environments, yet we still reject many of these as a culture.

We believe that there should be “no idle time” spent during our day and that play is a waste of time that could be better utilized doing productive things.

I want to challenge this way of thinking head-on… What if, by having fun and playing with intention, you became more productive than not playing and grinding through your days to be as productive as possible?

Is sound impossible? After all, where does that “wasted time go?”

I can speak from the experiences of my life. From the testimony of many business owners and highly productive people, it’s true: Taking time for fun and play in your life will make a noticeable improvement in your overall work output during your working hours.

As humans, we’re not made to be robots, no matter what anyone tells you. Having things that we do for fun is part of our wiring.

Why not make it an intentional part of your life instead of just a “reward” you are working towards.

You will find yourself producing more when you give yourself opportunities to play and have fun.

Some ideas for you:

·       Horseback riding

·       Sewing

·       Playing an Instrument

·       Playing a video game

·       Going for a drive

·       Going for a walk

·       Reading a book

·       Watching a TV show

These are all ideas from my clients of what they said they would do more for FUN if they had the time!

If you haven’t done this, you need to get a hobby of some kind. Some outlets are not related to your everyday routine to mix things up for you.

It could even be just hanging out with some friends.

You can then find some people you have in common with these activities and create a community together. Finding friends that you have things in common with is a valuable part of our lives.

Give yourself intentional moments of play and fun and watch your productivity and your life improve.

Learning New Things Faster & Easier

At every stage of our lives, it's possible to learn. Recent discoveries have revealed that the brain can learn new things at any age, so no longer is our brain stuck once we are older.

It does become a bit difficult to learn later in life, but you can learn new things faster and easier with a few simple methods.

The first step is stepping into the role of "Learner" in your life. Open yourself up to being a learner instead of needing to know everything. This is a quantum shift in your possibility for learning because instead of holding onto the old, you are embracing the new.

There are many ways to learn:

*Books

*Courses

*Mentors

*Podcasts

*Blogs

*School

*Social Media Groups

*Google

*Youtube

These are my top favorite ways to learn, and I utilize all of them simultaneously.

Yes, I said simultaneously. Let me explain...

When I want to learn a new topic, I always start on Social Media Groups, Blogs, Google, and Youtube.

These all have the amazing search-engine ability built into them for a variety of general topics.

When you search for what you are looking for, there are algorithms built in to SUGGEST related topics, and this is how I find the things I'm looking for often is by paying attention to the recommendations!

Next: I actually open up my intuition. I pay attention; for me, I pray and ask God to show me the resources that will help me learn faster (and they become highlighted to me in the form of a sense or feeling that I get when I'm on the right track).

From here, I start learning.

One huge tip: Don't feel the need to finish everything you're learning...

Sometimes, you might start reading something or going through a book or course.

THIS IS IMPORTANT: If you feel like you should shift and go somewhere else while learning, you will not get a losing grade by pivoting.

So I do this all the time; I jump from topic to topic and only focus on what really grabs my attention the most.

It should never be a dread to learning. Learning should be fun. We have to shift our perspective towards fun for its work.

Just as a child learns by play, learning is a form of play as adults, and something that I suggest you try out.

If you've never made learning fun, embrace the concept, and see how it works for you.

Think of a topic that you've always wished you could learn, and start randomly researching it - EVEN IF IT'S A WASTE OF TIME.

You can ask questions in Facebook Groups or post on forums. You can look up youtube videos and find books and podcasts by authors on various topics!

When you utilize these all together, you can learn anything faster than you ever thought possible.

Another great way to learn is by asking questions and trying this one "I'm not sure how to ask this question, but I'm wanting to figure out how to XYZ and wondering what direction to go in. Can someone help me?"

This question shows humility and says, I don't really know what I'm doing, but I really want to learn. Embrace this idea of the learner and the fact that you don't need to know everything.

The future will open up for you!

Gaining Confidence When Using Intimidating Technology

Technology can be very intimidating. Sometimes, we can get stuck in feeling like we don't know what to do - and don't want to mess anything up, so we probably shouldn't do anything at all. We aren't sure what works, what's going to get a result.

This is a normal part of dealing with technology that everyone goes through.

We might feel like we're not sure if the actions we take will get a result.

We may not even know how to find the information we are looking for.

It can feel like an impossible barrier to break past, this feeling of:

1.) I need to know what to do before doing it...

2.) I'm not sure what to do because I don't know what to do...

3.) Whatever I do with technology, it doesn't work, and I'm not sure what to do next....

And this can leave us stuck and paralyzed.

During coaching hundreds of people through their technology issues, I find this to be a common problem - and a very solvable problem.

The best way to break out of it is first to find some inner peace about technology.

Clear your mind of the feeling that if you make a mistake, or it doesn't work the way you wanted, that it's the end of the world.

The good news is this: imperfect action with technology and marketing in your business is the best way to learn and grow.

Tinkering is the magic behind the breakthrough.

Playing around with technology & testing out new software is what you want to do more of. Clicking buttons to see "What does this button do, what does that button do," almost the way a child does.

You're not doing surgery, and you're not dealing with major financial decisions, you're not being regulated by a legal body (unless you're making income claims or health claims, then please study the FTC regulations.)

While there are rules for email marketing abuse and Facebook ads abuse, you can learn these in less than a day by going over the policies and procedures on the websites of these service providers.

At the end of the day, just taking action to play around and see what happens is the first step!

The camera doesn't have teeth, even tho it feels that way. The email software isn't going to kill you. Your social media isn't going to end your life.

This is an excellent exercise in growing past your comfort zone to do things you've never done before.

TRY THIS: Make a LIVE video on your social media. Go live and talk on video, even if you're not sure what to say.

We can get so caught up in our head, overthinking how everything could go wrong, arguing with ourselves.

I can't stress this enough: You have to stop overthinking the process and overthinking what you have to do.

This leads to overwhelming and burnout by our creation and thinking because we think up ways that things will go wrong.

Focus on finding self-acceptance and inner peace when you take action instead of thinking about how things can go wrong. This will activate you to solve problems faster and more effectively than fear ever will allow you

Then, from here, do the tinkering... Mess around with the technology that you're using, even if you're not sure how to use it.

Beginners Guide To Practicing Visualization

When you visualize yourself doing the very thing you are stuck on, you activate yourself to take action on a level you never imagined.

Before I set out to write this blog post, I took 5-10 seconds, closed my eyes, and visualized myself writing it. Right now, I am doing the very thing that I am telling you to do.

This is a powerful practice that works no matter who you are, no matter what you are doing. Don't discount or discredit its value in your everyday life.

In your mind's eye, see yourself doing the activity BEFORE you are doing right before. Seconds before. I'm not talking about visualizing yourself being finished with the activity at all. Visualize yourself preparing and STARTING. Visualize what that starting step looks like.

Then, put your practice into action by doing the thing you visualize.

For many of you, this will be one of the hardest things you've ever done, and yet it'll be the most life-changing.

See yourself doing things that you've never done before. It's not delusional thinking, ideas of grandeur or psychosis of the mind woo crap because you're going to put it into action IMMEDIATELY.

Visualization is an activity that our military does, and athletes do. Top performers around the world visualize their actions.

Yet, for some reason, we feel like it's below us to do this practice. We think that it doesn't work, or 'I'm not that type of person."

What if you tried something you've never tried before?

Part of the reason certain practices like visualization are so hard is that we might be so invested in a world of NOT believing that visualization works at all that we are afraid to try it. We are invested in our reasons not to do them.

Don't allow pride and ego to keep you stuck. Don't let toxic beliefs and religion to keep you stuck.

When you see yourself doing something you've never done before, you activate certain parts of your body to prepare yourself to take action.

When it comes to writing, making social media content, blog posts, Facebook ads, courses, whatever you are doing – visualize yourself doing the activity.

See yourself taking the first step, and then start.

By the way, it's ok if you don't finish. It's ok if you struggle at it. It's ok if you don't do it correctly. Perfection is overrated.

You are a learner right now, learning something new. Embrace it the way you did when you were first learning to drive a car or ride a bike. You're going to mess up and make mistakes, and that's entirely by design.

When you start doing this practice of visualization more and more, your life will begin to change!

You will visualize yourself doing impossible things and then actually do them.

But this isn't going to happen just waiting until someday. The time to act is now. Don't make excuses or reasons why tomorrow is the time. Today is the time.

Visualize yourself doing something that you've been putting off for a long time, and then do it!

See yourself starting the process, and then go start in your real life.

Watch what happens. You'll be shocked, and then you can write to me and let me know how it goes!
